Name & Icon Background
I knew that when the time came to begin fabricating and selling my designs I would need to decide upon a name and probably an icon too. I had a few company ideas in mind, several of which I liked very much, but after considerable thought and research I chose an eponymous brand name as is common in the industry.
The idea for my company’s icon first came to me about 5 years ago. It represents a combination of my family names, but more so, to me it symbolizes the sacred gift of life and the ability to grow into the best versions of ourselves everyday while on the path to realizing our full potential. My paternal surname, Di Fiore, means of flower in English while my maternal surname, Colasacco, means leaking sack. One day I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be neat to draw a flower growing out of a sack that had been watered. If you look closely, you’ll see my initials within. Hint: they form part of the flower’s anatomy.
Like other ideas I’ve had and carried from concept to creation, it just felt right. This familiar feeling that I was onto something made me smile. Then began the process of sketching it out and after lots of modifications and addressing specific details over the course of a month, the watered flower in the sack pot was born.
